Severe accident, Mick Schumacher absent from F1 Saudi Arabia GP

 Mick Schumacher is confirmed to be absent from the F1 GP of Saudi Arabia after suffering a terrible accident during the qualifying session at the Corniche Circuit, Jeddah, Saturday (26/3) local time.

Reuters reported that Schumacher was immediately taken by ambulance and rushed to a hospital in Jeddah for further examination.

Although not seriously injured, the Haas team decided Scumacher was absent from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday (27/3).

"There is a possibility that he will have to stay in hospital for overnight observations. Based on these facts, we have decided not to let him down tomorrow," said team boss Guenther Steiner.

Schumacher had a serious accident in qualifying which left his car badly damaged. He even had to be taken by ambulance to a medical center and flown by helicopter to the King Fahad Armed Forces hospital.

It is estimated that Schumacher crashed while driving the vehicle at 240 km / h on the Jeddah highway circuit. His car was badly damaged, but luckily the German racer was not seriously injured.

"He's not injured as you can see, they just want to check him and do some checks to make sure there's no damage from the impact," said Steiner.

In addition to Schumacher, the Saudi Arabian F1 GP qualification was also marred by an accident experienced by Williams driver Nicholas Latifi, which resulted in the raising of a red flag in the first phase.

The pole position itself was finally controlled by Red Bull's Sergio Perez. While the second and third starting positions are occupied by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, respectively. While Lewis Hamilton had to settle for starting the race from the order of 16.
